Disability Inclusive Development (DID) Partnerships (Ongoing Activity)

ASDEPCO believes not only in community development but also in Disability Inclusive Development.  To this effect, the Organization has a partnership with the Hope Social Union for the Visually Impaired (HSUVI) and is anticipating a partnership with the CBC for the Socio-Economic Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Program-SEEDPD

Hope Social Union for the Visually Impaired- HSUVI is a self-reliant association of persons with visual impairment (Blind) who celebrated World Brail Day and the inauguration of their head office on the 4th of January 2023 at Mile 4 Nkwen Bamenda. They had earlier solicited for partnership, and the CEO of ASDEPCO was present. He accepted a memorandum of understanding and pledged support for equipment to the tune of 150,000FCFA.

Speaking at the event, the CEO of ASDEPCO reiterated “I think we need to show and share love. That is one of the strategies of ASDEPCO. We are an inclusive advocate organization.”

Memorandum of Understanding

To this effect, a Memorandum of Understanding was entered into by the two Organizations with ASDEPCO having the following rules to play in the Memorandum.

  1. Collaborate with the Organization, especially for projects concerning Persons with Disability
  2. Provide adequate information and statistics about persons with disabilities whenever and wherever need be
  3. Liaise with HSUVI for meetings, trainings, and workshops beneficial to both Parties
  4. Provide office space and all other appropriate logistics to accommodate any program/project run by both organizations;
  5. Be responsible for purchasing necessary materials/supplies/equipment for designated programs/projects from partners;
  6. Participate in the evaluation of programs and projects run by both organizations
  7. Recruit and refer persons with visual impairments and other PWDs to the partner at the eventuality of any sponsorship;
  8. Participate on an Advisory Team for both partners.
