About us
ASDEP-CO
Since being founded in 2010, ASDEP-CO has conceived and initiated over 8+ development projects spanning agriculture, education, health access, clean water, and more. We carry out participatory diagnoses to truly understand community challenges and involve local stakeholders in co-creating impactful and culturally appropriate development plans.
History of the Organization
From its inception in 2010, ASDEP-CO has been working in various communities in Cameroon as a community-based organization. ASDEP-CO has been involved in diverse fields and domains, including activities such as: The elaboration of community development plans, Planning of local solutions in rural communities, Environmental activities and education in primary and secondary schools, The development of tree nurseries of indigenous species in communities, Agricultural activities in communities while enhancing touristic activities.
After years of activities with communities, the achievements of the organization were visible, ASDEP-CO monitored and evaluated the indicators in the various communities, and it was evident from the outcomes and impacts that the projects brought positive change in the communities and in the mindset of the people. With this in mind, the members deemed it necessary to engage in the official legalization of this organization. The official recognition and legalization was done in conformity with law No. 90/053 of December 12, 1990 relating to the Freedom of Association in the Republic of Cameroon.
ASDEP-CO was registered as charity No.01/AR/E.26/A1/ALPAS/CB/PS/118 on February 15, 2018. Her nature was classified as a voluntary, apolitical, non-profit, non-religious, non-racial and non-sexiest grassroots community-based development organization.
Since the legalization of the organization in 2022, the organization has engaged in Humanitarian activities as well, within the context of the Anglophone crisis, as well as peace building Activities. Engaging in activities with communities, ASDEPCO equally realized that Disability Inclusive Development is necessary in order to complete the other aspects of development.
